True Backgammon App Reviews

I have played this game for many years. Traded emails with the developer. Of all the backgammon games that I have played, this has the nicest interface. I prefer it. But in my opinion, I just dont believe the developer wants this game to be honest. I think he wants us to believe that it is and that he is gone to great trouble to make us believe that it is. But I just find it hard to believe. Why is it that there are so many of us that experience the same "unfair" situations. The game is extremely lucky getting multiple impossible dice rolls sometimes beyond imagination to come back from a major down position. On the flip side, I have a piece off and 4 open spots to come off the board onto and somehow it takes me 5 to 10 tries. On the other side I will have one position open and 9 out of 10 times, the computer will not only get back on the board in one try but will have 2 or 3 more miraculous rolls to win the game. If this happens once in awhile, fine. But it consistently happens and if you read the reviews, it happens to many others too. Using the "roll your own dice" option should not be the only way to get a fair game. I keep playing it because I like the interface. But I have a very low opinion of the developers sense of fair play. Just wish he would add an option that you can get a fair game without having to roll my own dice.

I love to play backgammon and this app in not enjoyable to play at all! Ultra aggressive and dice not fair!!

The author went to the trouble of putting a BS note claiming no rigging. I did his experiment and Confirmed that this thing is rigged. I have situations where I get the same roll 4 times in a row until I have no option to move where the computer wants me, then BAM, it screws you. You will also find yourself on bar with two or three slots occupied, it will take 5 or 6 rolls to get off. Meanwhile the computer will nearly always get off the bar in 1 roll with FIVE slots occupied. Ridiculous!

Okay thats it! I like to be my own judge of these free apps so I download this one. The author did the old, "give it a try" pop up. Okay sure. Now I have to pick my own dice? Cant figure out how to get out of that mode. So I have to say bye bye. Was fun for the first few days though, Sorry.

Ive bought dozens of BG apps & played thousand of games, after playing real BG for 40+ years. This is the only one that uses truly random rolls. Others ABSOLUTELY use dice to fake "play level." Not this one. I wish developer would add a higher level because it will never beat me on Expert level. it will win a few games each match and win one match out of a dozen, but has no chance against me long term. If youre not beating this one, you need to learn better play.

Total fraud! Does not allow optimal moves. Pieces cannot be moved intelligently (i.e. a 3-1 or 6-1 opening roll). It allows only stupid moves. I deleted after two aborted games. This is a joke! Plus you try to suppress negative reviews by not allowing nicknames to be accepted.

This game is rigged. I wont playing this anymore!!!!

Read what other say. I played the game a number of times and the game is very rigged. If you play enough it is predictable what the computer will role. It also rolls the same roll multiple times to keep you from advancing at time. Bad game find another alternative.

Simply flawed. Had to delete because of dice. Computer will roll doubles 3 to 1. If computer is on the bar and has to get one number to get back on, guess what? I gave it 4 weeks and the pattern was the same.

Ive been playing this game for a few years now, I win more than I lose but it is totally rigged. I agree with what everyone else is saying. Computer wins first roll 95% of the time, computer gets the rolls it needs 99% of the time while you set on the bar for 10 rolls or more. Looking for a better backgammon game...any suggestions?

Computer seems to get what it always needs but yet it isnt programmed to. The programmer actually emailed me to tell me the logic. Fix the game to work with iOS 7 please.

Please dont do what I did and waste your money! This game is a total farce! There is absolutely no way anyone could convince me of anything but that. The computer always- and I mean ALWAYS gets the roll it needs in critical situations. 90% of the time it gets the first move (a huge advantage). Also, it gets far more doubles (especially double 6s- shocking!). I have played many games against a computer. There is no way this game is fair. Absolutely impossible! I dont care what the developer writes. This game is fixed!

Dont buy this until the compatibility issue with os7 is solved!

Love the look and feel of this game. Did not realize how much I played till it was out for the io7 upgrade. Thanks for continuing to improve the game!

True Backgammon HD had already been my favourite backgammon app since its first version. However, retina-display graphics were lacking and online play was not supported. The new version now has both features. Arguably, this is the best backgammon app currently available.

Ive played a ton of games and really enjoyed this app. Would have given it five stars but the latest update put a second or two delay in the computer players time which is driving me crazy. Wish I could go back to the last version. Thanks for the game, hope you can speed it up!

The Tutor is well worth the investment. The game was enjoyable and reasonably challenging before, although it made goofy moves at times. Now, the moves logic is unrelenting and will provoke you to "up your game." The opportunity to change your mind in the new update will provide even more learning options. BG aficionados are wise to choose this app.

Save yourself money and frustration! The developer goes out of the way declaiming random dice. Ive played backgammon over 40 years, the rolls totally set up in computer favor! If I ever played anybody that lucky, Id be sitting face to face with God. Keep looking, this one is the worse!

One side will be capable of Rollins and playing. The opponent rolls, can light up possibilities, but can t move them. Is there a fix? I have deleted several times, but the same thing happens, Regards, Jackie Murphey This still stinks! J.
