Globally well done except dice rolling which seem with a very high signifcant percentage be falsed when computer has opportunities to take opponents pieces Really frustrating up to pushing you to quit the game Alain

I dont even know how it changed and how to change the language back to english (or french)... Please help ;)

In the beginning I thought this game was really good. A hundred matches after though (expert level), it started to show the same pattern of numerical coincidences in favor of the machine other games use to have. It is funny, if you dont mind to loose for tricky algorithms...

Overall, this is a nice version of backgammon, but there are a few things Id like to see improved: 1) If you undo a doubles, you lose the doubles, its like getting 2 of the same number, not 4. 2) You have to move the topmost piece on any point. Thats just irritating. 3) It would be nice if there was an indicator that a roll can be made. After a players made their turn, a button appearing that says "roll" would be nice. This has already replaced the board wed used to play this, and with some improvements it could be fantastic. As it stands, though, its merely not bad.

The game is good. I think the AI needs a little work. However the over-riding concern that should preclude purchase is that the game becomes unresponsive for moments or permanently. At times I would try to move the pieces and the game was slow to pick up my movements and last night it froze altogether and had to be taken off and reinstalled. I am sure the authors are aware of this response slow down and freeze and are working on it. However I would not purchase it until it is fixed.

I provided a 4 star rating because I like the application and have been using it for two-person backgammon for quite a while now, however the last update broke the game. Down to the last phase of the game clearing the board, I had a 6 and 2, it would allow me to remove the 2 but I couldnt remove the 6. There were a few other times we were not able to continue our moves without undoing the move in progress and then starting over.

I am an expert player with over 30 years experience with this game and mediterranean versions of it. I have tried all the games i found on the app store and this is one of the better ones. The dice are not skewed and the play is straight forward. The layout is excellent, no wasted space, its all about the game, no b.s. Sometimes it feels a tad slow and i would prefer to have one touch automatic moves. Played in the real world, this game can and should move fast but this one sometimes feels like its made for old people and little kids.

Go find another game. The dice randomized in this game is pathetic. For human to human play the look at feel is very nice

Great graphics, shoddy programming. Youre on crack if you think the diceplay isnt ridiculously skewed here. It just gets more and more annoying. Does it really take that much effort to make the AI simply PLAY better, rather than ROLL better? Big thumbs down.

This app couldnt be any better. Its very clean responsive and lets you move multiple pieces at a time using different fingers. Buy this app I assure you that you wont regret it.

This app was good to start with but the more you play the more the computer starts to win with lots of doubles and rolls that are hits every time you have a piece open. It is very frustrating to lose over and over to constant rolls of doubles and it seems the only time you roll doubles is when you are out and cannot use them . The author swears the dice are not loaded but I think they are full of it. Double your enjoyment and stay away from this app!

Best looking board. Great play for 2 players. Junk, when playing against the computer.

No doubt this app is decent, thats for sure. However, its way too expensive for what youre getting. Are you developers on pot or something? $3.99 and on top of that having to pay more money for different board schemes? Give your heads a shake or two. I would not recommend this app purely on price point. If you want a better backgammon game (and cheaper) I recommend "Backgammon Premium" for $1.99. I decided to try a new backgammon app to see what was out there but I think Ill stick to "backgammon premium", thanks anyways, wish I could get my money back.

Ive been playing this app for a few weeks now. Ive tried a few other cheaper backgammon apps and this one is the best. Unlike other reviewers, it think the dice rolls are indeed random. The AI seems pretty good, but in all fairness I am just learning how to play the game. Having said that, this app has helped to to start winning games against friends who have been playing for years. I love the orient sets you can buy in this app - beautiful!

This game is only good if you are playing against people. If you try to play against the computer , its futile. i never ever seen dice rolls that are 3-2 five times in a row. The computer seems to get most doubles when it is simply convenient. The developer may include a message indicating that the dice rolls are not peedetrmined , and I highly doubt his claim. All I can say is , if you would like to hone your skills in this game , play against people. The "bring-your-own-dice" option proposed by the developer is absurd, as why would anyone bring dice with them everywhere they go just because the developer made sure the pc wins 85% of the time ?

Play against the computer and throw all theories of probability out the window

Ive played this game over and over becasue I like backgammon, but be forewarned, the game is a huge CHEAT!!!! Every game starts with a short note warning you that it appears the game is cheating by playing with loaded dice..... BECAUSE IT IS!!!! This game will definitley challenge your skills as a player as you try to plan different strategies, but no matter which strategy you play, the dice almost ALWAYS work in the games favour. Yes you will win games, but the game will frustrate you when it constantly pins you deep with many rolls to get back in, and when you think you have it pinned deep, it ALWAYS finds a way out within a couple of rolls. I would have rated it lower that the 3-stars but I like backgammon and this game allows for quick matches and I play it a number of times every day.

This game is constantly frustrating because it is so heavily biased in favour of the computer to win. Once you get knocked of the board, it takes an average of 7-10 rolls (or more!!) to get back on, while computer gets back on immediately with favoured dice, usually doubles. The 3 different levels are a bit of a joke, from exceedingly simple & childlike to just more and more loaded dice favouring the computer. The game also seems programmed to give computer lots of doubles when bearing off at end of game. And I have never rolled so many doubles and double 6s when bumped off and trying to get back on the board. Very rarely have I seen a game so heavily slanted in favour of computer. I give it 2 stars for being pretty and having a few nice features.
